A London classic. Eat Tokyo has been popular for the past 20 years. The sashimi and sushi is fresh and they have a wide variety of cooked foods as well.

Fresh sushi and great serve. Huge selection of sashimi, sushi, seasonal dishes, hot items (tempura, battered oysters, chicken yakitori) and a great sake list. We will be back soon!

Average food, terrible service, overall very cheap feeling, and super long queues. There are definitely much better places around for Japanese food for which you don't have to queue like an idiot for 30min.

I prefer Eat Tokyo at Golders Green but this branch is open during day. It is best value for quality Japanese food. Staff in this branch so far has 100% rate to forget something but they are very friendly . Overall, great place to go.

Where is Rebecca?? The service is chaotic, queue management poor, at least 5 steps missed in the sequences - never got part of my food. Still paid all. That’s EAT for me. Won’t be back. People leave because of people. Mr Takayama should consider this.

So many options and allergy information on the menu! Food came out super fast and service was quick also. Everything was delicious and reasonably priced.

I regularly go here to eat when catching up with friends. Amazing atmosphere and servers are ready to help. I took a finished water glass Evian bottle, they had a giggle and let me get away with it. This place is probably the best is you want authenticity but don’t want to break the bank.

Food is so and so but good price. Each time we spend about £15-20 per person. Very central location near Covent Garden.

This restaurant always has a long queue every time I walk past. But when I went around 3 PM, there was still a queue, but not too long, so the wait wasn’t bad. The food is Japanese, reasonably priced, and the quality is pretty good.

I've visited Eat Tokyo Covent Garden a few times, but this is my first review because my recent experience on January 22nd during lunchtime was truly exceptional, thanks to one amazing waiter. I was seated upstairs, which was almost full with only a couple of tables left. Despite being the only waiter handling the entire floor, he was incredibly efficient, kind, and professional. His warm smile and positive attitude stood out immediately. What impressed me the most was his quick service. On previous visits, even with more staff upstairs, I had to wait quite a while just to get my drinks. This time, everything came so swiftly — it was a pleasant surprise! His attention to detail and genuine care for the customers made the experience unforgettable. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, but it was this waiter's exceptional service that made the visit memorable. I noticed some staff wore name tags, but unfortunately, he didn’t have one; otherwise, I would have mentioned his name for sure.

Eat Tokyo is a great set of Japanese restaurants in London where you can get a decent and authentic Japanese meal for an affordable price. Most of their locales are quite big and all of them usually have a queue at the entrance (you can book ahead in this one though), but they have a fantastic management of people and dishes, with great staff cooking and serving. The menu is an authentic encyclopedia of options, but the bentos steal the show for me with their portions and quality. The fried tofu is accompanied by a superbly light sauce, the salad has a fantastic dressing, the miso soup is simple but quite soothing. Whichever main you take, you can't miss, but I particularly recommend the fatty tonkatsu or the teriyaki salmon. Their assortment of alcohol is massive, including rarities like a matcha beer. Great place to come and scratch the Japanese craving with a decently sized portion in central London!
